Updates to Reports Capabilities - September 12, 2018
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) continues to create new data universes and reports, as well as enhance current reports to meet the needs of the trade community. Please see below for recent and upcoming updates regarding ACE reports and data universe.
ACE Reports Upgrade to Business Objects 4.2 Service Pack (SP) 5
CBP has completed the upgrade to Business Objects 4.2 Service Pack (SP) 5 on Monday, September 10, 2018. ACE Reports users should be able resume creating and saving new ad-hoc reports, as well as modifying already-existing reports.
This upgrade involves new features available to users, some of which are highlighted below. Please note that not all of the 4.2 features listed on SAP’s website will be available to ACE Reports users. CBP will be updating the ACE Reports User Guide to reflect these new features.
New Options for Data Visualization
In design mode, there will be new options available for visualizing the data generated in reports. These include geographic, tree, and heat maps.
New Export Format Options
Users will be able to export reports in PDF, XSLX, and ZIP (CSV archive option) formats.
Functionality Available in HTML Mode
Version 4.2 contains functionality in HTML mode that was only available in applet mode in version 4.1. This includes the functionality available under the Numbers, Analysis, Tools, and Data Access tabs in Design mode.
ACE Reports users should ensure that they remain in HTML mode. The user preferences still has applet mode available as an option, but it is no longer supported by SAP.
Harmonized Tariff Schedule Universe Updates
CBP has updated the HTS universe to include the codes and descriptions of each PGA’s CATAIR flags. The REF-001 report has been updated to include these new data objects. A new report, titled REF-002 USDA/AMS HTS Fees, contains USDA/Agricultural Marketing Service fee amount data for certain HTS codes.

Updates to Entry Summary Reports
As part of the effort to improve the performance and utility of the Entry Summary reports in advance of the retirement of the Account Management (AM) and Entry Summary Management (ESM) reports, the following updates have been made.
- Manufacturer address data have been added to the Entry Summary Universe
- Bill Amount and Refund Amount have been added to the Entry Summary universe
- Filer Code has been added as a prompt to all Entry Summary reports
- Importation Date and Refund Data have been added as prompts to the ES-701 report

Transitioning to Entry Summary Universe and Reports
CBP is in the planning stage of retiring the Account Management (AM) and Entry Summary Management (ESM) universes to fully transition to the Entry Summary (ES) universe. Below is the table listing the legacy AM and ESM reports and their ES replacements. Please begin using the entry summary equivalent of an AM and/or ESM report that you use regularly or have customized and saved.
CBP is updating the ES-010 Automatic Liquidation Alert report to include a new data object named “Current Liquidation Cycle Indicator (Y/N)” which will indicate whether, at the time the report is generated, a given entry is set to liquidate on the upcoming Friday. If this indicator is set to “N” the resulting report will show those entries that are set to liquidate in the future, at the time the report is generated. This data object will also be available in the Entry Summary universe for use in other Entry Summary reports. With this update, the report has been renamed to “ES-010 Upcoming Liquidations.”
