U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Agriculture Trade Liaison Division (APTL) is excited to share our 2024 CBP Agriculture Canine Calendar! Agriculture Canines protect U.S. agriculture by recognizing fruits, vegetables, meats, and soil, which are hosts for invasive pests and diseases. There are currently over 160 active teams of beagles and labradors assigned to continental U.S. ports, and ports in the U.S. VI, PR, HI, and in Toronto, Canada. In general, beagles are used in passenger environments, they are also trained in the mail processing environment. Labradors are used at border, cargo, and mail processing environments.
