CBP announces measures to facilitate upcoming Thanksgiving, Black Friday holiday traffic at the Laredo Port of Entry

LAREDO, Texas– As the Thanksgiving/Black Friday travel season quickly approaches, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations at the Laredo Port of Entry encourages travelers to plan ahead, apply for I-94 travel permits online as CBP prepares to implement measures to facilitate holiday traffic.  

CBP reminds traveling public of prohibited agricultural items during upcoming Día De Los Muertos holiday

SAN DIEGO – As the U.S.-Mexico border community prepares for the upcoming All Souls Day (Día de los Muertos) holiday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials are advising the traveling public that certain agricultural items used in holiday decorations are prohibited from entering the United States. These items can carry harmful pests and diseases, such as citrus huanglongbing.

Travelers should build extra time into cross border trips during Texas sales tax holiday

EL PASO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection is reminding travelers that the annual Texas back to school tax-free holiday is scheduled for Aug. 11-13. Typically, sales tax holiday weekend will generate higher than normal border crossing numbers as area residents travel to participate in the annual money saving event.

Laredo Port of Entry Prepares and Implements Facilitation Measures Considering Increased Holiday Traffic

LAREDO, Texas — With the Fourth of July holiday around the corner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) Laredo Port of Entry (LPOE) will soon begin to process larger volumes of international travelers to the United States through the South Texas border. The LPOE is recommending that travelers apply for tourist permits online and consult Border Wait Times on www.cbp.gov to minimize trip delays.
