WASHINGTON — U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine agents partnered with Houston’s local law enforcement to transport cases of donated blood, destined for a blood bank serving Hurricane Harvey victims on Aug. 29.

Agents flying in a Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter flew to a stranded truck west of Houston to pick up the cases of donated blood. Air and Marine agents and local law enforcement partners diligently worked in unison to load the cases of blood onto the Huey, for transport to a bank in downtown Houston.

Agents are trained and ready to support local, state and federal response efforts. CBP’s highest priorities are to promote life-saving and life-sustaining activities, the safe evacuation of people who are leaving the impacted area, and the speedy recovery of the region.
