CBP Highlights Arrests and Seizures of the Week: Week 23

Washington – Sea shells, fruit flies and 4.5 tons of marijuana on a moving train are just a few of the significant interceptions of contraband and arrests the men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection effect every week. Highlights of these activities for the last several days include:

"A central goal will be to identify the best way CBP can respond at each stage in the movement of a potentially dangerous shipment or person," expressed CBP Commissioner Alan Bersin. "Accomplishing that goal will require closer partnership with the private sector; border communities; foreign governments; state, local, and tribal law enforcement; and other federal agencies - all of which have access to crucial information that CBP needs to do its job."
