Yuma Sector Agents Arrest Driver and Two Illegal Aliens Attempting to Circumvent Checkpoint

YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents from Blythe Station working at the immigration checkpoint on Highway 95 arrested a U.S. citizen and two illegal aliens who attempted to drive around the checkpoint in a smuggling attempt.

Monday evening, a black Mazda attempted to circumvent the immigration checkpoint and Border Patrol agents pursued the vehicle. The Department of Public Safety and La Paz County Sheriff’s Office were both notified and responded to the incident. The vehicle pulled over on Highway 95, 10 miles south of Quartzsite, and the occupants attempted to flee.

Border Patrol agents apprehended the female driver, a U.S. citizen, and two male passengers.  The passengers were determined to be Mexican nationals illegally present in the United States. The vehicle was seized and the passengers were processed for immigration violations and expelled from the country under Title 42 authority.
