Agents apprehended 49-year-old Narcisco Valadez-Velazquez near the levee road, close to County 17th Street.  He had just entered the United States illegally from Mexico by crossing the Colorado River. He said he was headed to Pomona, Calif., to visit family.

During processing, agents learned Valadez was convicted for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14-years-old, a felony, in Riverside, Calif., and served three years in prison. He also has a felony conviction for inflicting corporal injury to a spouse.

Valadez was last removed from the United States in 2012. He now faces charges for re-entry after deportation as an aggravated felon.

All persons apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal immigrants with criminal histories are positively identified. Citizens can help the Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection by calling 1-866-999-8727 toll-free to report suspicious activity. Callers may remain anonymous.
