Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Arrests Three Sexual Predators and Three Gang Members

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley identified multiple gang members and sexual predators.  

On Thursday, agents assigned to the Rio Grande City station apprehended a Salvadoran national near Roma, Texas whose record checks revealed he is an 18th Street gang member.

On Friday, McAllen agents apprehended a Salvadoran national near Mission, Texas. During processing, agents identified him as an MS-13 gang member.

That same day, Rio Grande City agents arrested a Mexican national near Roma, Texas whose record checks revealed a prior arrest for sexual assault of a child and a sentence of 362 days confinement.

Early Saturday morning, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol station apprehended a Salvadoran man near Mission, Texas. His record checks confirmed a previous arrest in Hudson County, New Jersey for sexual assault of a victim of 13-15 years of age and sentenced to 155 days confinement.

That evening, Corpus Christi agents assisted the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office on a traffic stop near Rockport, Texas. During the investigation, agents identified the driver as a Somalian national whose records checks revealed a prior arrest by the Owatonna, Minnesota Police Department for sexual conduct-2nd degree-sexual contact and sentenced to 18 years confinement plus 15 years’ probation.

Today, Kingsville agents apprehended a group of five illegal aliens attempting to circumvent the Sarita Checkpoint. During processing, agents noticed one of the subjects displayed several MS-13 affiliated tattoos. Record checks on the Salvadoran man confirmed his status as an MS-13 gang member.

The Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
