PROGRESO, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents seize over 300 pounds of marijuana after conducting a traffic stop.

Yesterday, agents assigned to the Weslaco station witnessed a man attempt to smuggle several bundles of narcotics that were loaded onto his vehicle near the bank of the Rio Grande and then drive north to exploit one of the gaps in the border wall.  Agents arrested the driver, and seized four bundles of narcotics along with the vehicle as a result of a vehicle stop.

The driver, a 23-year-old United States citizen and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
