Officers referred a 23-year-old U.S. citizen for additional inspection of her Nissan sedan as she attempted to enter the U.S. early Thursday morning. After a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to a scent it was trained to detect coming from throughout the vehicle including the bumper, a search led to the discovery of nearly 120 packages of meth that weighed almost 62 pounds, and have an estimated value of nearly $185,000.

Wednesday, officers referred a 23-year-old U.S. citizen for a further search of his Toyota sedan as he attempted to enter the U.S. that afternoon. After detecting the presence of drugs on the driver, a personal search located more than one-half pound of meth, worth nearly $1,700; close to one-quarter pound of fentanyl, worth $3,000; and nearly one-quarter pound of heroin, worth more than $6,000.

Officers seized the drugs and the vehicles, while the subjects were both arrested and then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
