YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Station agents arrested two criminal illegal aliens within five hours after they illegally entered the United States on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday evening, agents apprehended two Guatemalan nationals after they illegally entered the United States along the Colorado River. During processing, agents identified one of the two illegal aliens as having multiple convictions for driving under the influence spanning multiple counties in Nebraska, including a felony conviction for a fourth DUI. He was also convicted of operating a motor vehicle while attempting to evade arrest.
Early Wednesday morning, agents apprehended three illegal aliens from Mexico hiding in an irrigation canal after they entered illegally into the United States along the Colorado River. During processing, agents identified one of the aliens as having been convicted of aggravated battery – intending great bodily harm out of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.
Since the two criminal aliens had previous deportations, they were both criminally prosecuted for re-entry after deportation.
In both of these cases, National Guard personnel operating Remote Video Surveillance Cameras from the Yuma Sector Communications Center spotted the groups of illegal aliens and assisted in guiding agents to where they could be apprehended.
The Colorado River is an area of International Boundary with Mexico where Yuma Sector is also experiencing a massive influx of Central American families illegally entering the United States and surrendering to agents.
