LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Sector Border Community Liaison Program and the Office of Field Operations (OFO) Laredo Port of Entry Passenger Support Unit (PSU) participated in Texas A&M International University's (TAMIU) Fall International Student Orientation in Laredo, Texas.
On August 23, Border Patrol agents and CBP officers presented to the international students information about their responsibilities while in the U.S. including the requirements of the F-1 and J-1 visa. The students also learned about the duties and responsibilities of the Border Patrol. Students included representatives from China, Germany, Nepal, Columbia, Venezuela, Mexico, and Austria.
The students benefitted from the presentations done by both OFO and Border Patrol in conjunction with TAMIU’s Office of International Engagement.
“It is a great opportunity to welcome these students into the community and provide them with the information necessary to assist with their stay and educational journey in Laredo,” said Laredo Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens.
