INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) K-9 Aladin retired on May 01, 2019 after more than six years of hard work and service. K-9 Aladin celebrated with a real bone at his retirement ceremony.
Born overseas, Aladin was trained at the US Customs and Border Protection K-9 training facility in Front Royal, Virginia before partnering up with CBP Officer Rob Satterley in the fall of 2013. Aladin is trained in the detection of currency and firearms.
Aladin and CBP Officer Satterley worked at the Port of Indianapolis during their years together as a part of the Office of Field Operations, Chicago Field Office.
Aladin was one of the highest producing canines for US Customs and Border Protection. During his career he had a paw in 769 seizures totaling over $17,000,000 in currency and 15 weapons. In recent years, Aladin’s ability to perform at a high level made him a great asset to all local law enforcement in the Indianapolis Area.
Aladin’s level of control was excellent and he was always a crowd favorite during public demonstrations. Over the years Aladin participation in many social events, a true ambassador between the public and law enforcement.
In keeping with US Customs and Border Protection tradition, CBP Officer Satterley will be able adopt Aladin to spend the rest of his life at home with his family after more than six years of service to his country.
