CBP To Expand Stanton SENTRI Hours Through February 2019

Release Date
Fri, 11/02/2018

EL PASO, TEXAS – Trusted travelers who utilize the Stanton street international crossing SENTRI lane won’t have to rush to make the midnight closing.  CBP will staff the facility until 2 a.m., two hours beyond the normal midnight closing time, on Friday and Saturday nights until late February 2019.

“We did expand service during several high traffic weekends earlier this year and the efforts were well received by area residents. And with the coming holiday travel period we expect commuters to look forward to this expansion,” said Ray Provencio, acting CBP El Paso Port Director. “This expansion in service falls in line with a number of our priorities to include the facilitation of lawful trade and travel while bolstering economic security.”

The Stanton SENTRI lane is popular. CBP officers working there process approximately 110,000 northbound vehicles monthly. Only those trusted travelers who enroll in the SENTRI program are eligible to utilize the SENTRI crossings in El Paso and elsewhere along the border. Regular service hours at the Stanton SENTRI are 6 a.m. to midnight weekdays and 8 a.m. to midnight weekends.

The added service will not impact the Yselta SENTRI lane which is already a 24/7 facility. CBP officers at the Ysleta SENTRI lane process approximately 100,000 northbound vehicles monthly.
