Border Patrol Agents Arrest Seven Circumventing Checkpoint

YUMA, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents arrested Jenri Bludimir Cartajena, an 18-year-old male U.S. citizen from Chattahoochie, Florida, for attempting to smuggle six illegal aliens around Wellton Station’s checkpoint on Interstate 8, east of Yuma, on Dec. 14.

The driver will be presented for prosecution for alien smuggling. The six aliens will be processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
