LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol agents respond to a call for assistance from the Webb County Fire Department (WCFD) regarding several individuals stranded during recent flooding southwest of Catarina, Texas.

On September 4, agents assigned to the Laredo West Station and Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) Unit coordinated with the WCFD when they received emergency calls regarding several individuals who were stranded after their vehicles were flooded due to inclement weather.  With the assistance of an M35 Series cargo truck, BORSTAR agents were able to reach their locations and rescue a total of four male individuals.

“Keeping our communities safe includes providing assistance in times of inclement weather or natural disasters.  I am proud of the men and woman of the United States Border Patrol who selflessly work in these dangerous conditions,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens.
