Border Patrol Agents and Homeland Security Investigations Intercept Alien Smuggling Attempt

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents assisted Homeland Security Investigations apprehend 34 illegal aliens during an alien smuggling attempt in Laredo, Texas.

The incident transpired on Aug. 22 when Homeland Security Investigations requested assistance from Border Patrol agents regarding a possible alien smuggling attempt utilizing a tractor-trailer in central Laredo, Texas.  Upon further inspection of the tractor-trailer, Border Patrol agents discovered 34 illegal aliens inside the trailer.  The illegal aliens, 29 males and five females, were found in good health and were identified as being from the countries of Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras.  All subjects were processed accordingly.
