GUATEMALA CITY — U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske and Administration of Tax of the Republic of Guatemala Superintendent Juan Francisco Solórzano Foppa expressed their intention today to establish information sharing initiatives between the two agencies.  The two officials met in Guatemala City to discuss how to leverage technology, and share best practices on risk management, professional integrity, and private sector engagement in order to help facilitate and increase secure trade between the two countries. 

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
