Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offender

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a previously deported sex offender near Nogales Wednesday afternoon.

 

Tucson Sector agents patrolling the desert near the border apprehended 49-year-old Curicaberi Aguirre Gomez around 4:20 p.m. Records checks revealed Gomez, a Mexican national illegally present in the United States, was convicted of lewd act upon a child under 14 years of age by Orange County, California, in 2006. He was sentenced to three years in jail.

 

As a previously deported aggravated felon, Aguirre Gomez faces federal prosecution for immigration violations.

 

All persons apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
