Meth Seized at Yuma Border Patrol Checkpoint

Yuma, Ariz.--Early last Wednesday morning, a Yuma Sector Detection Canine alerted to 17 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the rear bumper of a vehicle as it was travelling through the I-8 checkpoint.  The estimated street value was $76,500. 

The drugs and vehicle were processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
