Laredo, Texas – The Laredo Sector Border Patrol commenced the first Youth of the Month ceremony for 2016-2017 school year at Alexander High School.  The Laredo Sector Border Patrol presented seniors from eleven Laredo high schools with the prestigious Youth of the Month Award; Harmony Science Academy was added to the program this year.

The Border Patrol Youth of the Month program has recognized Laredo’s top high school seniors for 29 years.  Together, with the collaboration of program partners, one student is selected each month from the Laredo-area high schools as Border Patrol Youth of the Month.  At the end of the school year, eleven Youth of the Month recipients are considered for the prestigious Border Patrol Youth of the Year award.

“Celebrating 29 years, we could not do it without the support of our community partners.  To the students, you are on the right path, we are honoring your achievements and your commitment to give back to your community.  Congratulations on your selection as September’s Youth of the Month, I have no doubt we will be hearing great things about your future endeavors,” said Enrique Martinez, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent.
