TUCSON, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents from the Three Points Sub-Station arrested a 33-year-old Mexican man Tuesday and later discovered he was previously convicted and sentenced for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Agents arrested Palemon Castelan-Reyes for being illegally present in the United States. During processing, a records check revealed he was found guilty on June 21, 2008, by grand jurist in Milam County, Texas, and sentenced to two years confinement.

Castelan now faces prosecution for criminal illegal re-entry into the United States.
