CALEXICO, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station seized packages filled with methamphetamine Monday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m., when Border Patrol agents responded to a citizen’s call of suspicious packages located east of Blair Avenue and First Street.
Agents arrived to the location and found two packages wrapped in black tape on the sidewalk approximately one-half mile east of the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry. Agents determined that both packages contained a white crystal like substance and transported the packages to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.
At the station, the packages tested positive for methamphetamine, with a combined weight of 2.20 pounds and an estimated street value of $4,961.
The narcotic packages were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
