Goods qualifying under Chapter 98, Subchapter XXVI, U.S. Note 8 must be entered using subheading 98220401. In 2023, these goods move from a quantity-based safeguard (99130205- U.S. Note 3) to a price-based safeguard which will be evaluated once a total of 78,420,000 kg of qualifying goods enter in 2023.

Merchandise presented at the opening shall be reported and released via the ACE.

Special Instructions

A valid export certificate is required to claim the in-quota rate for beef, cheese, and dairy products (chapter 98, subchapter XXVI, U.S. notes 3 through 15). The first number of the certificate must match the year of presentation, followed by the ISO code AU followed by a unique alpha/numeric code. A 2023 export certificate, e.g., 3AU12345B, must accompany merchandise entered in 2023. Certificates must be transmitted electronically.
