WASHINGTON—On July 2, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued its determination as to evasion by AA Metals in its Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) investigation, EAPA Case 7470, into the evasion of antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) orders for common alloy aluminum sheet (aluminum sheet) from the People’s Republic of China (China). CBP found there was not substantial evidence that AA Metals had been entering subject merchandise from China that had been transshipped through the United Arab Emirates.
This determination does not preclude CBP from taking additional enforcement measures as it determines appropriate under its EAPA or other legal authorities, which include pursuing civil penalties or investigations into criminal violations.
