YUMA, Ariz. — Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien who proved to be a convicted sex offender, yesterday, following a vehicle stop.

Blythe Station agents patrolling near Wikieup, Ariz. performed the vehicle stop on Highway 93. The passenger, Alvaro Perez-Lopez, was illegally living in the United States and was arrested by the agents, who then performed a records check.  The check identified Perez as a convicted sex offender out of Santa Rosa, Calif., in September 2009, and most recently removed in December 2011 via San Ysidro, California.

Perez was submitted for prosecution as per Yuma Sector guidelines.
