WELLTON, Ariz. — U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector’s Wellton Station arrested nine individuals and seized 417 pounds of marijuana Monday.
The nine subjects, all Mexican nationals in the U.S. illegally, were arrested near Gila Bend. Subsequent to the apprehensions, agents located 10 burlap backpacks containing marijuana in close proximity to the arrest site. The marijuana, worth an estimated $208,500, and suspects were turned over to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
