U.S. Citizen Faces Drug Charges, Fine for Illegal Entry

YUMA, Ariz. - Early Thursday (Feb. 26), a Yuma Station Border Patrol agent arrested a man who illegally entered the United States by crossing the Colorado River.  The subject claimed to be a United States citizen and that he crossed illegally because of an outstanding warrant.

The subject also possessed a glass pipe, personal-use marijuana and prescription drugs.

Agents transported the man to the Yuma Border Patrol Station for further processing and later turned him and his paraphernalia over to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
