U.S. Border Patrol Blotter, Blaine Sector February 20–March 5, 2014

BLAINE, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine, Wash. Sector area of operations.  For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

  • 2/20/2014 – Shortly after sunset, an operator of a Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) observed three people illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Sumas, Washington.  U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to the area and located the group.  The subjects, citizens of India, were determined to be illegally present in the United States.  The subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal. 
  • 2/22/2014 – Agents responded to possible illicit cross-border activity in a remote area east of Blaine, Washington.  When agents arrived in the area, they discovered an individual attempting to hide in the brush.  Agents determined the subject to be a citizen of Mexico, illegally present in the United States.  Record checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal. 
  • 2/25/2014 – Agents responded to a call from a concerned citizen who reported three people who had just illegally crossed the U.S./Canada border west of Sumas, Washington.  The subjects were determined to be citizens of Romania, unlawfully present in the United States.  The subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal.
  • 2/28/2014 – Early in the evening, a RVSS operator witnessed an individual illegally enter the United States east of Blaine, Washington.  Agents responded to the area, located the subject and determined that the Canadian citizen was unlawfully present in the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for removal.
  • 2/28/2014 – A RVSS operator observed a person cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  Agents responded to the area and located the subject, a citizen of Turkey, illegally present in the United States.  Record checks revealed the subject had previously been removed from the United States.  The subject was arrested and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.
  • 3/01/2014 – Agents encountered a person wearing wet and muddy clothes in close proximity to the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  Through questioning, agents determined that the subject was a citizen of Canada, unlawfully present in the United States.  Record checks revealed the subject had an extensive immigration history and had been previously removed from the United States.  The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.
