OAM Personnel Find Missing Plane in Texas

HUDSPETH COUNTY, TX - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) El Paso Air Branch Air Interdiction Agents located the wreckage of a single engine fixed-wing Cessna 182 aircraft that was officially missing since Tuesday and located in Hudspeth County, Texas.

There are no survivors in the crash, which is believed to have involved one occupant of the aircraft.

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents on the ground were also part of the search for the downed aircraft, including a member from the USBP Search, Trauma and Rescue Team who was with the Office of Air and Marine helicopter crew that found the plane at approximately 7:20 a.m.

The crash site near Hueco Tanks State Park is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Department. Personnel from the NTSB are also en route.

The identity of the deceased pilot has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
