Nogales CBP Officers Seize 737 Rounds of Ammunition

NOGALES, Ariz. — Hundreds of rounds of ammunition headed for Mexico were seized Jan. 28 by Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of Nogales.CBP officers at the Port of Nogales seized more than 700 rounds of ammunition before it could head south into Mexico

CBP officers conducting routine outbound operations at the Mariposa crossing referred Clifton Wixson, 29, of Glendale, Arizona, for further inspection of his Ford truck. During the inspection, officials located multiple boxes and loose rounds of ammunition of various calibers.

Officers seized the ammunition and truck, and turned Wixson over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
