OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from El Centro Sector rescued an illegal alien Saturday evening in the Jacumba Wilderness region near Ocotillo.

At approximately 10:08 p.m., El Centro Sector Communications Dispatch notified El Centro Station agents of a distress call made by an individual who illegally crossed the international boundary in the mountains 22 miles west of Calexico.  The illegal alien called 9-1-1 and stated that he was lost and dehydrated.  Agents performing their assigned duties in the area responded to the location to begin searching for the man.

At approximately 10:41 p.m., agents located the lost 29-year-old Mexican man and provided him with water.  The situation was assessed and no medical attention was needed.  Agents transported the illegal alien to the rally point for processing and expelled the man back to Mexico.
