Laredo Sector Border Patrol Holds Promotion Ceremony

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Interim Border Patrol Chief Mario Martinez, presented new insignia ranks and certificates to 20 Border Patrol agents and 8 promotion certificates to Sector employees during a ceremony held yesterday at Texas A&M International University.

Twenty Border Patrol Agents presented new insignia ranks and certificates during ceremony at Texas A&M International University.

The selection and promotion of yesterday’s ceremony included promotion ranks from Executive Officer, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent, Patrol Agent in Charge (PAIC) Deputy Patrol Agent in Charge (DPAIC), Watch Commanders, Special Operations Supervisor (SOS), Supervisory Border Patrol Agent, Branch Chief, Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, Communication Assistant, and Mission Support Specialist.

“Leaders must earn their right and respect of those they intend to lead tomorrow,” said Interim Chief Mario Martinez.  We are here to honor the men and women who were not satisfied to just devoting their life to securing our country, they wanted to lead their efforts, they wanted to be the decision makers, the risk takers, the mentors, the catalyst of change.  “I expect you to teach and mentor, because nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care,” said Martinez. 

The Laredo Border Patrol Sector currently has over 1,700 Border Patrol Agents and over 100 support personnel.
