Douglas CBP Seize $100K in Marijuana

More than 200 pounds hidden in seats

DOUGLAS, Ariz. - A 23-year-old woman from Mexico was arrested Aug. 26 for attempting to smuggle $102,000 worth of marijuana through the Port of Douglas.

CBP officers assigned to the Port of Douglas located marijuana packages behind the seats of a drug smuggling vehicle.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection narcotics detection canine helped officers locate 152 packages of marijuana hidden throughout a Dodge sport utility vehicle selected for further inspection.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred the female subject to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
