EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents arrest a sex-offender and a convicted murderer.

The Dallas Police Department arrested Grimaldo-Requena for sexual assault of a child and a judge sentenced him to eight years incarceration.

The following evening, Weslaco agents working in Donna, Texas, arrested a Mexican national after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks revealed an arrest and charge in Hidalgo County for “Murder-Intentionally Causing Death,” a 1st degree felony.

Both subjects were referred for Federal prosecution.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and to help save lives by reporting suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.  The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
