CBP Officers Seize $30K Marijuana Load

TUCSON, Ariz. – A 26-year-old Mexican man was arrested Nov. 1 for attempting to smuggle approximately 60 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Naco.

Customs and Border Protection officers referred a Mercedes sedan driven by Jose Humberto Osuna-Carvajal for further inspection and found 57 packages of marijuana valued at approximately $30,000. Officers located the packages within a compartment built into the vehicle’s floor with the assistance of a CBP narcotics detection canine.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred Osuna to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
