CBP Announces Summer Hours of Operation for Border Station at Crane Lake, Minnesota

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) wishes to inform the public that the border stations at Crane Lake, Minnesota, will extend the hours of operation in accordance with the summer tourist season. The station is operational 365 days a year with reduced hours during the winter.

Effective May 9, 2015, and through September 30, 2015, the hours of operation for the border stations at Crane Lake will be as follows:

The Crane Lake Border Station is located on Crane Lake adjacent to Voyageurs National Park.  There are no roads into or out of Canada in this remote wilderness area.  All travel into and from Canada is by small boat, canoe, kayak, snowmobile and aircraft.

Applications for the I-68 permit can be made in person at the Crane Lake Border Station during normal business hours or at the Grand Portage Port of Entry.  The I-68 permit allows boaters to enter the United States from Canada for recreational purposes and report their arrival to CBP from a telephone at their earliest opportunity.
