CBP Announces Delay of Summer Hours for Wild Horse Port of Entry

Release Date
Fri, 05/15/2020

WILD HORSE, Mont. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations Area Port of Sweetgrass announces that the return to summer hours at the Port of Wild Horse is delayed due to current travel restrictions as a result of COVID-19.

Normally, Wild Horse begins its summer hours schedule on May 15.  However, this year, the resumption of the summer hours will be delayed until further notice.

The port of Wild Horse will continue operating on the winter hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days per week, until further notice for passenger traffic which has been determined to be “essential” and permitted commercial vehicles.

Wild Horse is a CBP permit port, which means a cargo permit is required to import commercial merchandise into the United States through this port. Permits must be approved in advance of cargo arrival. The CBP Area Port of Sweetgrass, which processes permit applications, has implemented a streamlined process to facilitate permit approvals. Contact the Port Director at Del Bonita Port of Entry at 406-336-2130 for more information.

The port of Wild Horse, Montana is located about 1½ hours south of Medicine Hat, Alberta, via Alberta 41, and 45 minutes north of Havre, Montana, via Montana Highway 232.
