CALEXICO, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station seized packages filled with methamphetamine in two separate events.
The first incident occurred Tuesday evening at approximately 10:50 p.m., when a Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) operator notified agents of packages being thrown over the International Border wall from Mexico into the United States. An agent responded to the location and discovered a package near the intersection of First Street and Heffernan Avenue.
The second incident occurred Wednesday morning at approximately 4:41 a.m., when RVSS operators again notified agents of packages being thrown over the border wall. Agents found two packages of methamphetamine near the same intersection.
The agents seized and transported the packages back to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.
At the station, the packages field tested positive for methamphetamine, with a combined weight of 3.46 pounds and an estimated street value of $6,574.
The narcotic packages were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
