USBP Vehicle along border in Maine at sunriseBANGOR, Maine – On Monday, November 2, United States Border Patrol Agents arrested a Chinese National with multiple criminal convictions and a prior order of removal.

While performing law enforcement duties in Bangor, agents from the Houlton Station observed a suspicious vehicle with Massachusetts plates.  A records check on the vehicle revealed the registered owner as a previously deported Chinese National with an extensive criminal history.  The subject, who was considered possibly armed and dangerous, also had a criminal history including convictions for larceny, robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

After processing, Border Patrol Agents turned over custody of the Chinese National to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement Removal Operations (ICE/ERO) for removal.

This is another example of how the Border Patrol in Maine works to make our communities safer throughout the state.  The Houlton Sector Border Patrol relies on the cooperation and assistance of the public.  Anyone wishing to make a confidential report of suspicious activity may call (800) 851-8727 to contact the United States Border Patrol in Maine or download the “USBP Maine” mobile app free from Google Play or the Apple Store.
