Border Patrol Agents Arrest 6 Sex Offenders

Del rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector continue to see an increase in the number of convicted sex offenders attempting to illegally enter the United States.

“In a time span of six days, our agents have arrested six convicted sex offenders,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin L. Skero II. “Thanks to our agents these predators are behind bars and our communities are safer for it.”

On Oct. 19, Comstock Station Agents arrested Sergio Castorena-Ramirez, 45, a citizen of Mexico, shortly after he illegally entered the United States. The subject was part of a group of illegal aliens who broke into a local ranch house near Comstock. During processing, records checks revealed that Castorena-Ramirez was convicted of Indecency with a Child in Fort Worth in February 2011 and sentenced to one year confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in January 2020.

On the same day, agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station arrested Jesus De La O-Ramos, 50, a citizen of Honduras, shortly after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, records checks revealed that in June 2007, De La O-Ramos was convicted of Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact in San Antonio and sentenced to four years confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in May 2014.

As convicted felons, they each face a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – Re-entry After Deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
