"A U.S. Border Patrol Agent assigned to the San Diego Sector Newton-Azrak Station in Murrieta, California, was involved in an off-duty shooting incident at 12:49 a.m. local time that resulted in the death of an individual. U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Internal Affairs and the U.S. Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector are cooperating with the Riverside Sheriff’s Office, who is leading the investigation. San Diego Sector has suspended the agent's law enforcement authority and placed the agent on administrative leave pending developments in the investigation.”
