CBP officers at the Port of Douglas, located and seized packages of marijuana that were hidden within the tires of a smuggling vehicle

TUCSON, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Douglas resident during a failed smuggling incident Monday at the Port of Douglas.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old female after an inspection of her Hyundai SUV led to the discovery of more than 174 pounds of marijuana throughout the vehicle worth more than $87,000.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred the subject to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
