TECATE, Calif.—On Wednesday, San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a sex offender with an outstanding warrant who had crossed the border illegally.
The incident began at approximately 1:00 a.m., when agents discovered a 41-year-old U.S. citizen north of the U.S./Mexico international border hiding in brush. A records check revealed that the man is a registered sex offender with an outstanding felony warrant out of New York.
Agents took the man into custody, and he is awaiting extradition to the New York State Department of Corrections.
