Whether you’re a frequent business flyer or traveling for pleasure, getting you on your way quickly and safely is CBP’s goal. Many air travelers around the globe have experienced the benefits of biometric facial comparison and now, you can too.

Currently, CBP uses biometric facial comparison technology to process travelers entering the United States at 238 airports, including all 14 CBP Preclearance locations and 49 locations for international air departures. New industry partners focused on processing travelers exiting the United States are coming onboard each month, and the traveler feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

• Types of Biometrics Technology Available at Airports

  • Entry: Biometric facial comparison technology used to process travelers entering the United States through airports.
  • Exit: Biometric facial comparison technology used to process travelers exiting the United States through airports.
  • TSA Aviation Security: For eligible Pre-Check and Global Entry members traveling both domestically and internationally, TSA uses TVS galleries to conduct a touch-less and token-less match at the travel document checker (TDC) at TSA security.
  • TSA Bag Drop: For eligible Pre-Check and Global Entry members traveling both domestically and internationally, airlines use TVS galleries, through TSA, to conduct a touch-less and token-less match at the to replace the required identification check at baggage-drop.
