Document Registration Error Response Codes

The electronic Certificate system (eCERT) of Customs and Border Protection may generate codes from the following list if errors are detected when processing an application to register a document (Certificate or License). The UN/EDIFACT message "SANCRT" is used to register a Certificate or License.

  • 5FE - DOCUMENT NUMBER INVALID
  • 5HR - DOCUMENT RECORD IN CANCELLED STATE
  • 5IV - REPLACE NOT ALLOWED, DOCUMENT IS MATCHED
  • 5IW - CANCEL NOT ALLOWED, DOCUMENT IS MATCHED
  • 4IX - ZERO QTY NOT ALLOWED
  • 5JQ - CNCL NOT ALLOWED, DOCUMENT NOT ON FILE
  • 5JR - DOCUMENT ALREADY ON MASTER FILE5JT - eCERT DATA TRANSLATION ERROR
  • 4JU - EDIFACT LINE COUNT MISMATCH
  • 5JV - DUPLICATE HTS NUMBERS
  • 5JX - RPL NOT ALLOWED, DOCUMENT NOT ON FILE
  • 4JZ - INVALID TRANS TYPE, NOT 1,2,55JY - DOCUMENT TYPE REQUIRES 6 DIGIT HTS NO.
  • 5ID - INVALID CERT ISSUE DATE
  • 5JW - INVALID HTS NUMBER
