QB 16-125 Results 0f 2016 Specialty Sugar 4(a)

Specialty Sugar

The tariff rate quota for Specialty Sugar Period 4(a) opened Monday, May 9, 2016.  The quota over-subscribed, the pro rata percentage is: 43.77981% or .4377981.

To facilitate release of shipments, HQ Quota will distribute an excel spreadsheet to the ports (for CBP internal use only) with the entry summary numbers and prorated amount per line (highlighted in yellow). HQ Quota will not allow filers to re-transmit amended entries. Filers should submit corrected CF-7501s, and the ports will update the entry summary line information. It may be necessary to add additional lines in order to accurately reflect the amendment (high duty line break out).

The trade may notify the local CBP port and the port will email HQ Quota by Thursday, June 2, 2016 the intended action. The importer may elect to use the entire prorated allocation on their entry, use a portion of the allocation or use none at all (entry cancellation).  The importer may also transfer their allotment to another port (must be the same importer).  Whatever action the importer decides to use, the entered quantities for quota may not exceed the total prorated amount.

HQ Quota will release the requested amount for each line based on the proration request submitted by the filer. CBP may not release the merchandise until quota input is complete and in accepted status in ACS.

Please ensure that this notice is passed to all port directors, assistant port directors (trade), import specialists, entry specialists, CBP officers, and other interested parties such as brokers and importers.
