QB 16-118 Results of Specialty Sugar Period 3
The tariff rate quota for specialty sugar that opened on Friday, January 8, 2016 over-subscribed at opening moment. The pro rata percentage is: 37.04735% or .3704735.
Entries or withdrawals for consumption for specialty sugar presented after the opening should be returned to the broker for amendment.
To facilitate release of shipments release of shipments, HQ Quota will distribute an excel spreadsheet to the ports of the entry summaries and the prorated amount per line (highlighted in yellow). HQ Quota will not allow filers to re-transmit amended entries. Filers should submit corrected CF-7501s, and the ports will update the entry summary line information. It may be necessary to add additional lines in order to accurately reflect the amendment (high duty line break out).
Please notify the ports and HQ Quota via email by Thursday, January 21, 2016 the intended action. The importer may elect to use the entire prorated allocation on their entry, use a portion of the allocation or use none at all (entry cancellation). The importer may also transfer their allotment to another port (must be the same importer). Whatever action the importer decides to use, the entered quantities for quota may not exceed the total prorated amount.
HQ Quota will release the requested amount for each line based on the proration request submitted by the filer. CBP may not release the merchandise until quota input is complete and in accepted status in ACS.
Please ensure that this notice is passed to all port directors, assistant port directors (Trade), import specialists, CBP officers, entry specialist and other interested parties such as brokers and importers.
