RGV Border Patrol agents foil multiple drug smuggling attempts

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents, in coordination with several law enforcement agencies, successfully interdicted six marijuana smuggling events in a two-day span from November 27th to 28th. 

On Monday, a camera operator observed three individuals throwing bundles over a border barrier near Los Indios, Texas. Harlingen agents apprehended two individuals and the bundles, later determined to be marijuana.  The individuals and marijuana were transported to the Harlingen Border Patrol Station for processing.  

Border Patrol Thwarts Coordinated 4-Vehicle Border Rush in Hodgdon, Maine

HODGDON, MAINE – On November 21, 2023, Border Patrol apprehended 20 Romanian nationals in Hodgdon, Maine after four vehicles were observed crossing the international boundary from Canada into the United States. Agents were alerted to illegal crossing at approximately 6:10 am, responding to the area and encountering the vehicles on Lincoln Road.

Border Patrol agents seize more than $3.5 million in fentanyl

TEMECULA, Calif. — San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents seized more than $3,500,000.00 worth of fentanyl pills during a vehicle stop on Interstate 15 Thursday.

Agents stopped a 24-year-old woman who was driving a gray sedan northbound on the interstate near Temecula.  During the stop, a Border Patrol canine alerted to the sedan. Agents inspected the sedan and discovered 62 bundles containing blue pills concealed inside its door panels and seats.

 

Border Patrol agents arrest registered sex offender for human smuggling while in possession of firearm

CAMPO, Calif. – A registered sex offender was arrested by San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents for human smuggling while in possession of a firearm Monday night.

At approximately 9:55 p.m., agents received information from a local resident who reportedly observed a suspected human smuggling event near the border involving an older model SUV.  An agent responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the resident’s report. Before the agent could attempt a vehicle stop, the driver of the vehicle pulled to the side of the road and came to a stop.

Suspected smuggler apprehended with $78k worth of cocaine

OCOTILLO WELLS, Calif.- El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a driver attempting to smuggle cocaine through a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint Wednesday evening.

On October 25, 2023, at approximately 7:25 p.m., a silver sedan approached the Highway 86 Border Patrol checkpoint. Agents questioned the driver and requested consent to search the trunk. Inside the trunk, agents observed a plastic grocery bag containing three cellophane-wrapped packages. Agents tested the contents of the packages and confirmed the discovered substances as cocaine.

 

Nogales Station Border Patrol agent and his K9 partner discover Fentanyl and Methamphetamine near Amado, Arizona.

A Nogales Station Border Patrol agent and his K9 partner discovered more than 130 pounds of narcotics while patrolling Thursday morning near Amado, Arizona.

On October 5th, at around 10:00 a.m. a K9 team found and seized four abandoned duffel bags containing suspected illicit drugs near the Interstate 19 Immigration Checkpoint. The drugs tested positive for meth and fentanyl, totaling 71.0 pounds of meth, with an estimated street value of $63,796, and 63.3 pounds of fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $416,150.
