DETROIT — U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations is gearing up for the 45th Annual Detroit Free Press Marathon on October 16—along with more than 19,000 runners from across the globe—and wants to remind those planning to cross into the United States by land of new guidelines for certain international travelers.

WASHINGTON D.C.— U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hosting a Fall 2022 Virtual Career Expo on Tuesday, September 13. CBP is seeking entry-level and experienced law enforcement professionals who are interested in a challenging and rewarding career serving our country. Interested applicants can discuss career options with CBP recruiters and attend live group presentations to learn more about the hiring process.

LOUISVILLE, Ky—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Louisville teamed up with other federal and local law enforcement agencies to focus on the opioid epidemic and how agencies can protect communities from this lethal narcotic.  

DETROIT - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of the Commissioner, Office of Intergovernmental Public Liaison is pleased to announce the selection of Nawar Shora as a Senior Community Relations Manager.

This newly formed position was created after a recent visit, by DHS Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas to Metro Detroit. During his trip Secretary Mayorkas met with leaders from Michigan’s Arab and Muslim American communities to discuss civil rights issues, including the challenges often confronted by members of these communities.

EDINBURG, Texas —On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Border Patrol hosted the Youth of the Year Scholarship Ceremony for the 2021-2022 school year. For 25 years, 63 high schools in the Rio Grande Valley have nominated a graduating senior to represent their high school as the “Head of the Class.” Students are nominated for this award based on their exemplary academic achievements, community service, and drug free lifestyle.  

Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol presents the Youth of the Month honorees for January 2022.

Through the Youth of the Month program, the Laredo Sector Border Patrol, in collaboration with community partners, educators, and family has recognized Laredo’s top high school seniors for 35 years.  At the end of the school year, 11 Youth of the Month recipients are considered for the prestigious Border Patrol Youth of the Year award that is presented at the end of the school year.

The following students were chosen as the Youth of the Month for January 2022:

GRAND FORKS N.D. — A telephone scam is targeting residents nationwide in an attempt to gain banking information from unsuspecting residents. 

Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol hosted a virtual ceremony where the Youth of the Month honorees were recognized.

Laredo Sector along with community partners, educators, and honoree families, came together on Nov. 18, to celebrate the incredible achievements and accomplishments of 11 honorees, all seniors from Laredo area high schools, and recognize them with the prestigious Youth of the Month Award.
