DETROIT — U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations is gearing up for the 45th Annual Detroit Free Press Marathon on October 16—along with more than 19,000 runners from across the globe—and wants to remind those planning to cross into the United States by land of new guidelines for certain international travelers.

CBP Selects Senior Community Relations Manager
DETROIT - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of the Commissioner, Office of Intergovernmental Public Liaison is pleased to announce the selection of Nawar Shora as a Senior Community Relations Manager.
This newly formed position was created after a recent visit, by DHS Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas to Metro Detroit. During his trip Secretary Mayorkas met with leaders from Michigan’s Arab and Muslim American communities to discuss civil rights issues, including the challenges often confronted by members of these communities.
Border Patrol Hosts “Youth of the Year” Scholarship/Recognition Ceremony in the RGV
EDINBURG, Texas —On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Border Patrol hosted the Youth of the Year Scholarship Ceremony for the 2021-2022 school year. For 25 years, 63 high schools in the Rio Grande Valley have nominated a graduating senior to represent their high school as the “Head of the Class.” Students are nominated for this award based on their exemplary academic achievements, community service, and drug free lifestyle.
Laredo Sector Border Patrol Proudly Presents January’s Youth of the Month Honorees
Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol presents the Youth of the Month honorees for January 2022.
Through the Youth of the Month program, the Laredo Sector Border Patrol, in collaboration with community partners, educators, and family has recognized Laredo’s top high school seniors for 35 years. At the end of the school year, 11 Youth of the Month recipients are considered for the prestigious Border Patrol Youth of the Year award that is presented at the end of the school year.
